This is one present Mimi’s definitely not mad at!
Mariah Carey gets one heck of a surprise at her “anniversary” party on this week’s Mariah’s World, when her backup dancer (and now boyfriend) Bryan Tanaka jumps out of a cake, before giving the singer a sexy lap dance.
“Apparently someone told Tanaka that I would like it if he jumped out of a cake,” Carey says to the camera, reflecting on the night while the clip shows her pouring champagne down Tanaka’s shirtless body. “Why are we making such a big deal out of it, like nobody ever got champagne poured on themselves before?”
A lap dance from Tanaka isn’t the only surprise Carey receives on Sunday’s episode, as another clip shows the star almost brought to tears when an emotional fan gifts her with a diamond cross necklace after her concert.
“The songs that I think my diehard fans are the most closest to are the ones that are the most real. I feel so close to them because I feel like they understand me, and they take the time to bother, to try to understand me. If the lyrics touch them, or if a certain song touches them, that can change their life in a way,” Mimi explains to the camera. “It’s tough, but it’s very rewarding.”
While a clearly touched Carey doesn’t wear the necklace, she does keep it with her as she’s comforted on the bus ride home by Tanaka.
While Carey and Tanaka’s romance blooms on Mariah’s World, sources tell ET that the “Touch My Body” singer and her backup dancer beau are definitely getting serious.
“She’s into him now,” a source told ET, adding that Tanaka will be Carey’s “New Year’s kiss” after she performs in New York City on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest on Saturday.
